Its a very difficult Peak, Technically as-well-as the encompassed Vagaries: of Tough Terrain, the deep Snow and most unpredictable weather. which jealously Guards Bhagirath.
1st Para determined climbers must have had to frequently change Gears- Crampons to Rock climbing boots to Snow shoes & vice-verse. Or, Skies to use shark skins. Did they skied the slopes/glacier on the descend!
Its indeed another Bhagirath Prayas to kick-start the 250th anniversary; endeavors like the Original King BHAGIRATH, the grt grand father of Lord Ram, who brought down Goddess Ganga (Bhagirathi), through these very peaks from the Heavens, pasifying the furry into Shiva's jattas, and all the way for his ancestors' "Mokchhya"

ARMY DAY PARADE

It was one of the all time best Especially the Marching columns & the Parade Commander..One is glad, we have Generals like Manvendra Singh in our Army ..ram rod straight, dignified, competent and over & above a Gen who looks like a Gen . The sheen of his sword hasn't ebbed ever since he won the sword of honor!The Army Day Parade was, even, far superior ..the Best turned out, in a long time :- The Word of Command, The Sword Drill, The Preset of Arms, Individual Rifle Drills, The March Past in columns.. Superb;Even the Chief was personally indulged: returning the Salutes as briskly;making bright eye contacts with Parade & all contingent commanders. His speech a bench mark.It was indeed a treat. This was the Best Army Day Parade Of all timesTrust me; I should know.I have commanded & lead Army & Rep Day parade contingents: seen it all.. the glorious March Pasts, from the review podium as the ADC to the then Chief.
